Age Of Innocence - COCO MAGAZINE

Just an example of my latest styling for an online magazine.
It was so amazing to see it among such incredible talent.
Any creative or fashion types take a look at COCO Magazine,
it definately gets all the creative ideas going.

A independent platform for new talent.
The magazine states themselves as:
'Coco Magazine is a new independent magazine.
Coco's main focus is to be feminine, romantic, magical and fashionable. Every few months Coco Magazine will release an issue filled with creative fashion stories by independent photographers & stylists.'

Again for this shoot I worked with the amazingly
 talented Nicole Jopek!

Coca Cola's Designer Makeover by Marc Jacobs...

I just had to share the latest designer makeover with Coca Cola,
in a long list of amazing designs by fabulous designers.
Just beacause these are totally the type of ads I would frame and have as wall art, they are just so incredible!

These genius designs are by the ever-handsome Marc Jacobs,
who features his beautiful muse Ginta Lapina in every design.

I definitely want to get my hands on one bottle!
Maybe even on all three?! ;)
There are also limited edition cans so keep your eyes peeled.

Coincidently, Marc Jacobs has recently become the creative director for Coca-Cola. He's doing a damn good job so far!

DREAM SPRING SKIRT LIST

This post is probably unaffordable to the majority of us,
But we can dream right?!
It's a wish list to get us in the mood for spring!
(if it ever comes)

The Derek Lam skirt is a whopping £1,050!!
A pipe dream but these electric colours
in a gorgeous graphic pattern are stunning.

Wow! I think this skirt is so beautiful!
Delicate and pretty with white lace,
definitely going to try to find a high street version.

This is the ultimate spring skirt!
A bold statement piece.
I would just LOVE to get my hands on.

I think this print is just perfect!
Why do you have to be £405?!
The nicest things are always the most expensive.
It's so upsetting being a student sometimes, haha.

I cannot do this post without mentioning one of my fave designers!
This skirt is already being recreated everywhere.
And it's no wonder with everything about this skirt being so perfect!
The shape, the colours the slit, the print.
I hope you love this one as much as me!

TREND: Toile Du Jouy

This ss Everyone will be sporting...
The Toile De Jouy Print.
With designers reworking this classic French print it into their designs,
they created interesting fabrics whilst updating classic items.
It's a hard trend to work, take a look and see if you're convinced.
What do you think to this trend, are you a fan?

Ruffian SS 2013 collection made it look cool.

Duro Olowu made it look ladylike.

Laura Bailey rocked it at at LFW SS 13 with a kilt.

Editorial Styling

This is another photoshoot, called Mannequin.
It is a more editorial and edgy creation.
The moodboards show the original ideas which we worked on,
to create four different key looks.
I created the following moodboards to show the photographer
and make up artist the vision we had.

Again this was a magazine project for final year,
which was shot again by the talented  Nicole Jopek
A more risqué shoot and thankfully one of the models wasn't shy,
in helping create the anticipated finished image.

STYLING

This was a magazine project for final year,
a location shoot we created.
All the clothes were sourced from
Magic Vintage, who have some amazing pieces!
It was shot beautifully by Nicole Jopek
And our group member, Laura Mann is the stunning model featured.
It's one of my favourite shoots that I'm really proud of.
Especially when myself and Johanna Bras did the hair and makeup ourselves and poor Laura had lovely Vaseline hair for a few days after. We all worked really hard and it seemed to pay off.

Now I know alot of people are in the midst of their university meetings and decisions, here's abit of a helpful example of my course in final year.
I study BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion, and it is a relief it is nearly at it's end. Can't wait to get out there now and work. It's at the University of Huddersfield, feel free to ask me any questions...

THE MODEL HUNT

Jennifer Joint 20, featured in top reality TV show Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model making it into cycle 8.

Leaving after week 5, not bad considering she never thought she'd make it into the house! When I saw her in the house, I loved her spunky attitude and stunning strong features. I asked her a few questions about the model hunt.

I would love to know, would you advise people to go on BINTM?
I would advise people to go on the show, if they knew they were going to win! Aha.

Her punk demeanour is momentary with her enthusiastic and frivolous outlook. Jen comments on her hair as a 'cut or leave' situation at the makeover stage.

What first got you into modelling?
I was first interested in modelling when I lived in Spain; my parents were always really supportive as well so that gave me a good push. Unfortunately, I never managed to pursue it far, but then better opportunities arose when I moved back to England.

What did you learn from BINTM?
I mainly learnt to have more confidence in myself when I walk onto a set. What shapes to make with my body that are flattering for the camera.

The judges for BINTM are 'the Body' Elle Macpherson, noted top fashion designer Julien MacDonald, the ever-stylish Whitney Port and gorgeous Tyson Beckford.

What were the judges like?
The judges were quite distant from us, and only really judged our pictures. They offered some help but not great insight.

Who were you closest to in the house?
I was closest to Anne, me and her really clicked and I was really sad when she left.

What was your favourite moment in BINTM?
I think one of my favourite moments was when we got to do a shoot with Rizzle Kicks for Company magazine, that was amazing!

Overall, what was your worst moment on the show?
One of the first shoots we did by John Rowley, where we were on harnesses.
It was awful, blood just left my head and I almost fainted.

Who was your favourite photographer or shoot?
My favourite shoot was either the Rizzle Kicks shoot, or the Gentlemen's Club editorial, which was very androgynous. I think I did quite well on that one.
BINTM created shoots that would normally be impossible or very improbable.

What opportunities had the show given you?
Being on the show hasn't really opened doors, but it has given me a bit more publicity than most start up models get.
I think this is just the beginning of Jen in the modelling world.
