INTRODUCING CLAIRE BAXTER

Having worked with Jeremy Scott in LA, John Galliano and Dior in Paris, Claire Baxter is more than qualified. Her individual collection ‘These are hard times for dreamers’ is intricate with elaborate embellishments and strong digital prints.
A tongue in cheek collection with dice prints, rabbit tails, completed with bunny ears garlanded with jewelled earrings.
Claire’s collection is a haze of glitter, feathers and dazzling diamonds, creating an instantaneous impact.
Previously a stylist for events in PR, her excessive OTT side to fashion is apparent. Taking inspiration from pole dancers, playboy bunnies and show girls the jewelled body suits and printed pieces exemplified with bold extravagant shoulders come to life.
An iconic paradox of humour and culture. Addressing and undressing cultural themes of money power and luck. This designer is undeniably one to watch.

Fashion Pony Media and Press Session

Fashion Pony is an online independent fashion boutique, they consist of many
brands and designers.
The Fashion Pony Boutique hosts limited edition collection of premium pieces from independent and emerging designers. The company won Leeds Retailer Awards 2011 winner for Best Specialist Retailer.

The event was hosted at the Mint Hotel in the Sky Lounge, in Leeds.
The talent was so exciting and there is several key pieces I have my eyes on.

The main designer that caught my eye with her stunning prints and technicality within her designs was independent designer Katie Newsam.  The strong silhouettes create intriguing shapes with clever tailoring.

Nottingham University Graduate Show 2011

Taken by myself at Nottingham Fashion Degree Show. Unfortunately my camera died after two shows. The work was its best i've seen for university students. Pieces looked ready for the catwalk or top high street stores. Sculptured, technically very good and with strong silhouettes. Each student compiled pieces that looked strong, fashionable and very desirable. My favourite pieces were endless. A cute plastic raincoat and skirt that was 60s inspired, a miu miu inspired collection, a leather cape; indented with flowers and beautiful dresses that i just wanted then and there.
